My New Book! Launches July 4th
Boozhoo (Hello)!
As I’ve been writing my new book, one truth has stayed at the front of my mind:
Technology can’t solve a problem it was never designed to see.
When faculty ask me how to make their classrooms more inclusive, they often turn to tools — search engines, learning management systems, AI.
But here’s the problem:
👉 If the data you’re searching is incomplete, the answers you get will be too.
👉 If the tools you rely on were never trained to recognize Indigenous brilliance, they will never recommend it to you.
This is why representation matters.
This is why we matter.
It’s not just about adding new tools — it’s about changing the questions we ask and the assumptions we challenge.
As educators, we have a choice: Will we wait for the algorithm to catch up, or will we lead the way?
💬 What’s one way you’ve challenged assumptions in your classroom or institution? I’d love to hear.
✨ And yes — this is one of the key themes in my upcoming book, The Algorithm Wasn’t Built for Us: Reclaiming the Future of AI, Education, and Culture. Stay tuned.
